Lavazza's seeds were planted in 1895 when a
small grocery store in Northern Italy was purchased for a mere $20. Raw coffee
beans were roasted in house and sold alongside many other grocery items.
The family's interest in coffee grew as the Lavazza's experience and
marketplace grew. In 1927 the small grocery store founded their logo and was
producing 1,000 tons of coffee a year. The Lavazza we know today was born.
Today Lavazza is heralded as being "Italy's #1 Coffee". With over 75% of Italy
drinking their coffee it is hard to argue.
